Six Years of the CAA IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program-A Partnership Driven by Standards

Today marks six years of the CAA IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program — a partnership shaped by clear standards, aligned intent, and a shared commitment to producing cockpit-ready pilots.

From the outset, the program was designed with one purpose: to combine rigorous training, disciplined mentorship, and a strong safety culture to prepare cadets for the demands of commercial aviation. Six years in, that purpose remains the anchor.

Over these years, hundreds of cadets have entered the program with ambition and determination. They graduate with the skills, judgment, and professionalism required to operate with confidence and responsibility. Their progression reflects the consistency and reliability this partnership stands for.

The strength of the CAA IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program lies in alignment. Both teams work to the same expectations, ensuring every stage of the journey, from selection to flying, pilots are not just qualified, but genuinely prepared. This structure keeps the program disciplined, transparent, and future-focused.

As Y. N. Sharma, CEO, Chimes Aviation Academy, says:

“Aviation continues to evolve. This program is our way of staying ahead: a training ecosystem that remains current, rigorous, and future-focused. Our commitment is simple and unchanged — to prepare cadets not just to fly, but to lead with competence, judgment, and discipline.”

As the CAA IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program enters its next phase, the focus is clear:

  • Keeping training aligned with real-world operational demands,

  • Strengthening the support and structure across each phase of the cadet journey, and

  • Continuing to deliver pilots who are ready for the responsibility of the flight deck from day one.
    ‍

As IndiGo’s training partner, our focus for the next phase is clear: to keep delivering pilots who meet the airline’s standards from day one.
