1What syllabus do I need to follow to be eligible for the entrance exam?
Our entrance exam primarily covers 12th standard level Physics and Mathematics.

1Can a non-science background student apply for a CPL course?
In case you have opted for Commerce or Arts stream at 10+ 2 level, then you can either take up Physics & Maths as additional subjects (if you are currently pursuing 10 + 2) or you can enroll as a private student in any of the recognized Open School / University. Alternatively, you can opt for the PPL / Cruiser program if you want to try your hand at hobby flying.

A large number of trains cross Bina Junction, which is at an hour’s drive from Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. Some trains from New Delhi and Mumbai have their stops at Sagar Junction as well. Details of the trains are given below :-

1Do you offer residential courses? What facilities are available for boarding and lodging of students?
Yes, all our courses are full time, residential. Our boarding and lodging facilities for students, are like a “home away from home” and are of the highest standards. We at CAA provide reports to the parents. Also, parents can visit us with prior information and can connect with the respective instructor for timely feedback.

1 What is the normal duration of the course?
Normal duration of CPL course is approximately 12 - 15 months, which is also subject to how soon a student clears his theory papers and passes DGCA exams. The fastest that one of our students has qualified, has been seven months!

1What are the major achievements of CAA, if any?
CAA is India’s first pilot training academy to fly the aircraft with the Centurion engine, which operates with ATF (Jet fuel). Also, we are listed in Limca Book of records.

1Typically how many students are taken in a batch?
This differs from course to course. The batch size depends on the number of applications we receive.

1 Does CAA help students get internships / placements?
CAA assists students in their preparation for interviews with various airlines. Click here for details of CAA ex-student pilots who are employed with various airlines, Coast Guard, private operators, etc and with CAA itself as Instructors.
CAA also gives “hours building” opportunity to our graduates to qualify for the flying hours requirement of specific airlines.

he Private Pilot Training course is ideally suited for aviation enthusiasts, for hobby fliers and for those who own or have access to a private aircraft. The PPL training curriculum helps build the necessary skills and knowledge that also makes students eligible for Commercial Pilot Training.

1I have heard a lot about glass cockpit aircraft. Could you please explain this term to me and also let me know whether CAA uses glass cockpit aircraft for training purposes?
A glass cockpit is an aircraft cockpit that features electronic (digital) flight instrument displays, typically large LCD screens, rather than the traditional style of analog dials and gauges.
Yes, at CAA all our Cessna 172 aircraft are equipped with Garmin G1000 glass cockpits.
1 Who is a First Officer?
In commercial aviation, the First Officer is the second pilot (also referred to as the "co-pilot" of an aircraft. The First Officer is second-in-command of the aircraft to the Captain, who is the legal commander.

Before progressing to First Officer, comes the role of Trainee co-Pilot. It takes approximately 1 year with an airline to become a Trainee co-pilot. Then after around one year and clearing the check ride, the Trainee co-Pilot qualifies for the right seat as a First Officer.

1How and when can one become a Captain?
Commander and Captain are terms used in-lieu of each other. It requires a total experience of 1500 flying hrs, an ATPL License, 1000 hrs of cross country flying and 500 hrs on type of aircraft to become a Captain. On an average it takes around 2 to 3 years to become a Captain after becoming a First Officer.

1What are the job prospects in India?
With the introduction of low cost airlines in India and Asia region, the job scenario in the aviation sector is looking up. Also, the importance of time over money is a major factor in making a transition from the railways to the airlines, as a primary mode of transport.

1How long can a person work as a Pilot?
Govt. of India allows a person to fly commercially up to the age of 65 years, which is subject to being medically fit.

1Do you have any suggestions for aspiring pilots?
Aviation is a sector that demands discipline, dedication and determination. Good numerical, analytical and logical reasoning ability are essential skills for pilots. If you plan to make aviation as your career, you must first earn the basic pilot certificates and ratings. Apart from your ratings and Commercial Pilot License, you would need to possess a positive attitude and honed interpersonal and decision making skills in order to succeed as a pilot.
While the majority of aspiring pilots wish to fly for airlines, there are several interesting and well paying jobs in India, for e.g. Charter flying; Corporate flying; Flight instructors; Aerial patrols, etc.

  • Minimum Age requirement - At the time of joining you should be 17 years of age and when applying for CPL license you should be 18 years of age.

  • Career flying could provide you with one of the fastest and highest return on your education investment (ROI). Flying is an extremely rewarding career.
